Why We Started Gringa

Travel Essentials That Actually Make Sense

We love a cute travel kit.

Like, obviously.

We love a pouch. We love a matching moment. We love anything that makes us feel like the version of ourselves who has her passport renewed, her itinerary somewhat organized, her lip balm within reach, and her boarding pass pulled up before the gate agent starts yelling.

That version of ourselves is very important to us.

But somewhere along the way, travel kits started making absolutely no sense.

You know the ones.

A beautiful pouch. A very chic product photo. A price tag somewhere north of $100. And then you look inside and it’s basically… emotional support packaging.

Maybe there’s a sleep mask.

Maybe there’s a tiny lotion.

Maybe there’s a bag inside of another bag, which feels illegal but somehow keeps happening.

Maybe there’s one of those products you convince yourself you’ll use because the branding is good, but then it immediately gets abandoned in a hotel drawer in Lisbon.

And we kept thinking: wait. Why are these travel kits so expensive when there’s barely anything in them?

Not in a hater way.

In a concerned citizen way.

Because women are already packing the real travel kit.

The useful one.

The chaotic one.

The one that lives in the bottom of your tote, your carry-on, your friend’s suitcase, your Notes app, and the group chat that becomes legally binding the second someone says, “Wait, does anyone have Advil?”

It’s the vitamins.

The lip gloss.

The tiny emergency pharmacy.

The pen you somehow always need at immigration, despite no one warning you until it’s too late.

The sunglasses case you ignored until your favorite pair got crushed under a water bottle.

The passport cover that makes you feel 12% more composed even if you’re actively spiraling.

The little pouch of things that says, “I may be chaotic, but I’m not unprepared.”

That’s where GR!NGA started.

Not from wanting to make another cute thing just to make another cute thing.

From wanting to make travel essentials that actually earn their spot in your bag.

The Problem With Travel Kits

Most travel kits are either too boring, too expensive, too empty, or trying way too hard to convince you they’re luxury because they come in beige.

And listen, we respect beige.

But beige cannot be the entire business model.

We wanted something different.

Something that felt curated, useful, giftable, fun, and a little more honest about how people actually travel.

Because the truth is, travel isn’t always a perfect linen set on a balcony.

Sometimes it’s sweating through airport security while pretending you’re fine.

Sometimes it’s realizing your phone is at 2% and your emotional stability is not far behind.

Sometimes it’s digging through your bag for a hair tie, a mint, a vitamin, a receipt, or literally any evidence that you had a plan.

We wanted GR!NGA to live in that world.

The real one.

The one where the trip is glamorous, but the travel day is a competitive sport.

So, What Is GR!NGA?

GR!NGA is a travel essentials brand for the girls who are always leaving soon.

The girls who book the flight and figure out the rest later.

The girls who over-romanticize airport coffee.

The girls who make a playlist before they make a packing list.

The girls who know a direct flight can change who you are as a person.

But more than anything, GR!NGA is for people who love the feeling of going somewhere.

The anticipation.

The outfit planning.

The “what are you wearing to the airport?” text.

The group chat chaos.

The delusion that you’ll journal every day of the trip.

The very real possibility that the trip will fix you, even if only for three business days.

We wanted to create products that match that feeling.

Not generic travel accessories that look like they came from a corporate retreat gift bag.

Not empty luxury kits that cost more than the flight.

Not practical products stripped of all personality.

Useful things.

With taste.

With humor.

With a point of view.

Why It Matters To Us

Travel has always been emotional.

It’s not just where you go. It’s who you are when you’re going.

There’s the person you are at home, answering emails, reheating coffee, doing laundry at a deeply inconvenient time.

And then there’s travel you.

Travel you is wearing sunglasses indoors.

Travel you is ordering fries for the table.

Travel you is convinced a hotel lobby spritz means everything is going to be okay.

We love travel you.

And we think travel you deserves better than a sad little kit with nothing in it.

That’s why we created GR!NGA.

To make travel feel more considered, more fun, and less like you’re cobbling your life together at 11:47 p.m. the night before your flight.

We’re not here to tell you that a passport holder will change your life.

That would be dramatic.

And yet.

We are here to say that small things matter.

The thing that keeps your sunglasses from getting destroyed.

The vitamin case that stops your supplements from rolling around your bag like loose casino chips.

The luggage tag that makes your suitcase easier to spot.

The journal you may or may not write in, but absolutely needed to bring because this trip has “personal growth” written all over it.

Those things add up.

They make travel feel less frantic.

More intentional.

More yours.

What We Stand For

GR!NGA stands for travel essentials with actual purpose.

We believe the best products are useful, but not boring.

Beautiful, but not precious.

Fun, but not disposable.

Giftable, but not generic.

We believe the little things you bring with you should feel like they belong to your life, not someone else’s idea of what a “perfect traveler” looks like.

We believe packing should be practical, but still a little dramatic.

We believe travel accessories should make sense.

And we believe a good trip starts before you even leave.

Introducing Drop 001

Drop 001 is our first love letter to the trip.

A curated set of travel essentials designed to cover the things you actually reach for before, during, and after you leave.

The little pieces that make you feel more organized, more put together, and more like the person you were pretending to be when you booked the flight.

It’s not a kit full of filler.

It’s not a $100 pouch with one tiny thing inside.

It’s a travel kit with a point.

For the airport.

For the hotel.

For the beach bag.

For the festival weekend.

For the long weekend.

For the trip that was “casual” until everyone started sending outfit inspo.

GR!NGA exists because we wanted travel essentials that actually felt essential.

So we made them.

And honestly, it was about time.
